ESTERO, Fla, November 2, 2023 – Hertz is giving Americans the chance to experience an electric vehicle by hosting EV test drive events in cities across the country. Today, at its Denver International Airport (DIA) location, Hertz customers and rideshare drivers will have the opportunity to see and drive the newest EV models from Tesla, Subaru, Polestar, and Kia. AAA will also share information about safe driving and EV charging with a demo of its mobile EV charging truck.

This event builds on Hertz and the City of Denver’s Hertz Electrifies Denver partnership launched in March 2023. Through that partnership, Hertz is expanding its EV fleet in Denver, supporting the build-out of public charging infrastructure, and investing in the future EV workforce, including through a partnership with Montbello Career and Technical High School in Denver.

“We're excited to expand opportunities for people in the Denver community to test drive an EV as part of our Hertz Electrifies Denver partnership,” said Laura Smith, Hertz Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Customer Experience. “We’re proud to give our customers access to a wide choice of vehicles, including a variety of EV makes and models at a range of price points to experience this next-generation automotive technology.”

Hertz is making EV rentals even more enticing with a national promotion where customers can enjoy one rental day free when they rent an electric vehicle for two or more days now through December 31, 2023.*

Hertz has tens of thousands of EVs available for rent at more than 2,000 locations across 44 states. In addition to leisure and business travelers, Hertz also rents EVs to rideshare drivers through a partnership with Uber. Nearly 50,000 drivers on the Uber platform have rented electric vehicles from Hertz so far, logging over 260 million miles with zero emissions.

To help customers feel comfortable and confident on the road, Hertz provides a variety of digital resources and in-person guidance on how to operate and charge an EV, including its new How to EV video series at hertz.com/myev. Hertz hosted one of the largest EV test drive events in the country in Los Angeles this summer and will continue to add test drive events in cities across the U.S.
